Short description

The core of every academic SHB program is a continuous transfer of research, instruction and learning content to the business as well as the integrative processing of a business project which the student develops and documents in the course of the transfer work, project study work, transfer documentation and reports and the concluding thesis. The "problem" to be solved is considered here as a target/actual difference ("start/objective").

Throughout the course of the program, the students work on an admitted project (basis: project specifications, project criteria, project work, PA) in their companies or organizations (project client), which is coached by certified project coaches. The project is a formal admission requrement for every academic program at the SHB.

Objectives

  • All study programs offered by the SHB are based on the concept of the transfer-oriented project competence program (PKS). The PKS is the consistent continuance of the dual education principle. Transfer-oriented projects in companies or other organizations, which supplement the practice-oriented program contents in a topical and application-relevant way by means of the autonomous and scientifically based solving of technical or commercial problems, shall from an integral part of the programs.

  • All SHB study programs shall require an SHB-approved project in the respective students' companies or other organizations.

  • At the end of the program, the students must submit their thesis.

Course Content by Units

  • Throughout the course of the program, students shall work on a project (project work) in their companies or in organizations (project client).
  • As a rule, the project shall be defined together with the students, the project client and an examiner of the SUB upon the program's commencement. The thesis shall be a practice-oriented, scientifically prepared and entrepreneurial relevant conception and completion documentation, in which the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program are applied to the project from the respective student's occupational environment. The thesis shall prove the students' ability to autonomously and methodically solve a specific problem in their companies.
